Engine oil, Alignment Prep.

For the first time after started working on this NSX, managed to take it out for the test driving session.



Not fun driving with A/C setup at 32degC but to push as much air as possible back to the header tank, no other options.


As soon as started driving, activated the ABS several times. The accumulator on this NSX seemed to be very healthy as the pump didn’t kick in even after 3 times the ABS was activated.


With the same procedure, normally it kicks in after 3 times but on this one, it took me 5 times.



As always, later spec 3.2L engine is very smooth from the vibration point of view and although the header and exhaust looked to be OEM, sounded very powerful and nice sound.

Probably, it is the effect of NSX-T engine cover.




Back to my place.


ABS fluid level was spot on so didn't adjust it.



Time to replace the engine oil and filter.

As always, top up the filter with some engine oil but probably not required.


This is just my standard procedure so not going to change it as it worked fine for me on many cars for many years.



Wipe off the area around the oil filter base and confirm that there is no O-ring left.



While waiting for the old oil to drain out, started to remove the suspension bolts and nuts in preparation for the alignment service.

Once a year, just before going to the alignment place, I normally remove the bolts and nuts and apply silicone grease to prevent the corrosion resulting in seized camber adjuster to the bush collar.


Even for a low mileage and fairly new NSX, some of the nuts were already seized.


Spent long time dealing with them.



Managed to turn the Front left tierod itself but the locking nut was rusty and seized.



Similar story at both R & L of the rear toe control arm.


Will leave them overnight soaked in the penetrating oil and try it again.

Challenge continues.

Extracted another 400 – 500cc old oil from the top and filled the engine with the new oil.


Started the engine for leak check and happy with it.

Almost done so I can watch Monaco GP tomororw....

Done.
