New fuel filter.

This is the last OEM one in stock at my place.
I am waiting for the new batch to arrive since last year and still no production date yet so
going to switch to Mahle one for the future service until OEM one becomes back in stock.

The fuel came out from the old filter.

Because of the digital camera white balance, it may look light brown/yellow but for my eyes, it was more like dark brown/grey.
Not too bad but considering the mileage covered in the last 3 years, quite surprised how dirty it was.
Another reason why it should be replaced regularly regardless of the mileage.

New one installed.

Eng oil and filter replaced.

With huge dent at the oil pan, I can only extract about 100 - 200cc from the top.
Normally, with the healthy oil pan, I can get about 300 – 400cc.

When I was removing the wheels for the brake bleeding, I noticed that one of the wheel stud bolt at RL corner was not smooth.
It was the one with the wheel lock nut.

Interesting thing was that the same lock nut went smoothly on other bolts so I thought it was the stud bolt threads but
all of the OEM wheel nut went on smoothly without any friction.

So, it must be the minute difference between the OEM nut and the aftermarket lock nut.

I don't like re-threading the wheel stud bolt as it's the sign of cross threaded or over stretched bolt but with this one,
since OEM nut went on fine, re-threaded and marked it with red paint so that it can be replaced at the time of Eng Refresh as
the whole hub/brake assy will come off together with the eng/gbox assy.

As a pre-caution, recommended the owner to use OEM nut on this marked bolt for now and attach the lock nut on other bolts.

Time for the eng compression check.
#2 IG coil was replaced in the past by someone due to flashing CEL and misfire once warmed up.

Hi Kaz, I too have been waiting an age for a new fuel filter from Honda.

Do you mind telling me what the part/model number is for the Mahle filter so I can order with confidence from eBay that it's the right one.

    92 NA1

    Thanks.

    It’s Mahle KL746.
Not sure in which country it is manufactured but will rely on German quality control.

It's sold much cheaper in US or Rockauto but by the time it arrives in UK, it will cost more than buying in UK.
Instead of getting from unknown seller on ebay, you can get it directly from Opie Oils website.
They also have their own ebay shop but cheaper buying direct.

They used to be NSXCB vendor.
You can get 10% off by entering the car club code including 'NSXCB' and lots of other clubs. I can also use the one from MX5 owners club.

I only bought one so had to pay for the delivery but still, the overall total including the discount and delivery came out just under GBP30.

Comes with copper sealing washer set.

Haven't installed yet but very likely to be forced to do so in the near future so I may take fuel pressure after the installation.
