Had to limit the time working on the car or sitting in front of the PC as I was not well over the last few days but now back in business.

Rear brake caliper parking brake mechanism.
Forgot to take the OEM service kit showing all sorts of grease, seals, boots, etc......
The medicine is too strong for me.....

As reported earlier, I decided to re-use the piston on the rear side but didn’t like the marking on the R-side one.
Looked as if someone tried to open it in the past.
There is nothing serviceable inside there so not sure why.

After careful inspection and cleaning, I didn’t find any damages on the parking brake mechanism so going to re-use it.

Another sign of wrong service in the past.

The grease used inside the parking brake lever cam was not the specified orange one.
It was dried out and turned into grey (possibly because of the shaft wear) and partially changed the form into lots and lots of tiny beads.

Not just Honda but many garages in Japan will be using Niglube RM manufactured by Nihon Grease Co. Ltd.
I won’t use anything else for this area as well as for the caliper slider pin.
One of the best grease available on the market.

Without the proper grease, it will eventually cause wear markings.

This one can be re-used and also the mating sleeve side was fine but should not see this kind of marking if refurbished properly at the right timing.

I couldn't re-use any of the pistons at the front but managed to re-use the ones at the rear so I was hoping that the rust level was much better on the rear than the front.
Wrong! I think the rear pistons were replaced in the past because of the rust issue.
The rust managed to reach beyond the dust boot groove and already reached the seal section.
For now, removed and treated them but next time, please send all four callipers and brackets to Bigg Red to have them soaked in the chemical.

Once again, double checking the smooth operation of the piston and also the parking brake mechanism.

Installed together with the Goodridge custom made brake line and carefully aligned without twisting it.
