Front brake calliper pistons.

Although they looked to be replaced in the past, not treated properly…..
Cleaned one of them to show how bad they were…..

Due to the lighting angle, not sure you can see all these pitted surface but I’m afraid there is no way I can re-use any of them…..

The rust already managed to reach the piston seal area beyond the dust boot.
I'll treat it this time but on next occasion, best sending them to Bigg Red.

I don’t know why people loves copper grease so much.
It just gets everywhere….
It's even on the side of actual pad material.... Not good....

One of the reason why I’m spending lots of time with the brake OH this time is that I must clean all these bits as
I don’t want anything getting inside the calliper body during the assembly process.

Looks like rear brake pistons were also replaced in the past.
R-side one cleaned for comparison.
They are in much better condition than the front ones.
I think I can re-use them.

Once again, thank you to Goodridge UK for their continuous support for our NSX community.
NSXCB spec custom made brake line with stainless fitting.
Only available to be sent to the UK address.

You won’t get the 2 line holders at the front side if you bought the off-the-shelf products.
Also, the line length is not suitable for the later spec calliper.

On top of these, most of the Goodridge labelled brake line set in Goodridge branded box sold on ebay, etc are not assembled or tested by Goodridge.
They were very likely to be assembled by the vendor or outsourced somewhere.
Nothing wrong with it if done properly but since it's brake system and servicing NSX owned by someone else,

I would rather use the one assembled and tested by Goodridge themselves.

The car mat should be ready very soon.

Long time ago, I was told that it was not possible to order the OEM hook in Japan as it came as part of the dealer fitted accessory car mat.
So, I always recommended other owners to get it from US.
However, a while ago, I found out that it’s now available even in Japan so just got them.

I was bit concerned about the clearance against the power seat motor but since the hook height is the same as my JDM spec one,
decided to install it on both sides.
In US, I think the hook is installed only at one side of the seat rail.

Same yellow grommet and screw used as on Acura models but I prefer the screw used behind the door handle because of the larger screw head.
That’s what came with on my JDM car mat.

Will start re-installing the calliper today.
