Visited Autostyle again to get some samples for colour decision by the owner.

Please note that these photos are digital format so colour sensitivity is different depending on the camera and
unless your display/device has been calibrated, you won’t get the true colour/depth/etc like when looked through human eyes so
please use these photos as reference only.


Last time when I designed the red one, under the direct sun light, the bright red looked really nice when placed on the 02+ NSX-R cabin red carpet.
However, in the shade, inside the garage or once it gets dark, the dark red, wine red or whatever we call it looked much better than the bright one.
So, the owner selected the dark red for both the mat colour as well as for the surrounding ‘binding’.


The owner of the NSX that I’m carrying out the Eng Refresh + LMA service at the moment,
already had black car mat from Autostyle long time ago but already damaged so wanted to have a new set.

Initially, he asked me to get the black one but from my past experience, black is really nice when it’s fresh and new with no dust at all.
However, once installed, it will highlight all sorts of dust, mud, sand, debris, etc on it causing eyesore.
To me, black one is more suitable for show car event purpose.





So, once again, took my OEM mat with me and visited Autostyle factory to check the colour under the sun as well as inside the garage, in the night, etc through my own eye.





Standard Grey

Under the direct sun light, the standard grey mat showed almost exactly the same colour as the OEM cabin dark grey carpet and looked nice.

However, once inside the garage or darker condition, the dark grey mat looked better.

Therefore, my recommendation is to use dark grey for both the mat and binding colour and keep ‘NSX’ badge colour/design as per the one on the wine red one above.
I think dark grey provides better contrast than the standard grey for showing off the NSX badge as well.

Couldn't remove the owner's black mat so please use the carpet colour at the sidesill as the reference point.
