Preparing to take the engine out of the bay…

As seen on many NSX, the bracket for the intake manifold cover was cracked long time ago and already rusting….
Can’t do much and I hope it won’t cause rattling noise on cold morning start up.

The rubber seal at the Rear IG coil cover was dislocated at two places and I’m afraid, allowed lots of moisture into the rear IG coil area.

Not sure when it happened but #1 IG coil is in really bad condition.
The metal layers are already lifting heavily but no misfire just yet.
All three IG coils at the front bank were fine and the internal spring load was also fine.

For some reason, the spark plugs were replaced a few times in the past but with heat range #7….
Honda did change to #7 on later model but immediately put it back to #6.

For stock engine and minor engine mod with similar compression ratio, there is no point in modifying the IG system.

The insulator around the centre terminal looked so white, like super white compared to #6 used on other engine.
No hesitation and also the plug just looked so new that I’m going to re-use them this time.
When the time comes, please replace them with PFR6G-11 as it's OBD-1.

Extra oil and debris observed at #1 & #6 plugs.
