I think I'll have fun dealing with these heavily corroded CAT nuts…

Also, the bolts and nuts at the heat shield are almost gone so that's going to be another challenge...
Going to take extra time before I can take the engine out of the chassis…

Because the heat shield is partially loose, they are making metal rattling noise at several places when the engine is at idle rpm.

By the way, never use same material bolt and nut at the place where they are going to be exposed to the heat, vibration and moisture.
100% guaranteed to seize.
I know some people are using stainless bolt and nut at the exhaust area.
That's the worst thing you can do.
Being both parts in stainless, you are going to have big time removing them next time.

When the engine is cold, I can hear metal squeaking noise somewhere around the right side of the engine near the crank pulley.
I think it’s from the a/c belt idle pulley so will take a look once the engine is out.
The noise disappears once the engine is hot.

The EPS rack was making significant squeaking noise especially when turning right.
Normally, with the healthy rack, you can hear light but smooth brush like sound when turning the wheel but never like this level.
Initially, I thought the rack end boot got cut and allowed moisture into the EPS rack rusting the commutator but
both boots were fine and they were the original ones so not replaced in the past.

Still, it’s something inside EPS rack and I can only trust T3TEC in Japan for the EPS rack service as
I don’t think other places have the same level of know-how and the test jig.

The grease was not splashed all over the place just yet but the inner joint of the right drive shaft just started leaking.
Considering your annual mileage, something to be addressed at the next service.

There was no imbalance on the tyre pressure between FR and FL but it looked as if this section of FL wheel was deformed in the past.
So far, no slow puncture but will check again in few weeks time.

Although the owner flushed the ABS solenoids with his friend in the past and despite being the 2nd gen ABS,
I’m afraid the solenoid(s) is still leaking.

The fluid level is slowly but steadily going up since it arrived at my place.
