Another audio head unit and CCU board to be serviced before I can start working on the NSX.
Clearly, it’s been serviced in the past because you won’t see such label from the factory….
I have one more audio head unit but this one is in really bad condition that
I already told the owner that I’m going to leave it for a while as it’s on the verge of
whether I should repair it or not from the cost point of view.
You may not be able to see it in the photo but thin layer of acid all over the place…..
Not sure what has been done on this unit but there was suspicious trace of soldering method at some of the big ICs…..
Normally, you use solder flow…..
IC replaced in the past???
Lots and lots of soldering to repair the damaged tracks and pads….
The display area showed trace of moisture and fairly deep scratch markings.
At the end, I couldn’t do much because the damages were too deep.
I could have used micro compound but never tried on this area so informed the owner that
I’m not going to try it and just clean as much as possible.
Looked like the cassette tape was used for a long time….
