Long time ago, I was told from Japan that one of the coolant hose was on back order but
with estimated next delivery schedule so didn’t worry too much as I had enough stock.

I normally keep 2 full set of coolant hoses with extra hoses to cope with different spec depending on the year model/variant/etc.
I even have a few LHD hoses as well.

Then, I didn’t hear from Japan for a while but the planned delivery date was getting closer so contacted them again.

I was told that now the manufacturing date was pushed back and in fact, no further information on the future production plan…..

That’s bad….

I pushed Japan side to request the manufacture to at least provide us with the manufacturing plan and
they told me they will update Honda as soon as they have further info.

In the meantime, in a hope to make at least small effect, I placed multiple orders for this hose through
my connection in Japan as well as through my local Honda dealer in UK.
That was a few months ago.

While waiting, I only had one spare left that I originally planned to use together with Koyo Racing Radiator on
my NSX while carrying out the A/C Refresh.
I had to give up both of them for other owners as there was no new coolant hose from Japan and
Koyo changed the way they sell the radiator to my contact in US.

After using the last stock, I even asked another owner to send his hose that I bought for him in the past
in case the new hose didn’t arrive in time for the service of this yellow NSX at my place at the moment.

Still no info from Japan so I discussed the matter with the owner of the yellow NSX and
we agreed that if we didn’t receive the new hose in time for the service,
the other owner should have the priority with this last one as it was originally bought for him.

The owner was happy to use the silicone hose so in parallel, I was searching for another option and
looked into creating the mandrel to manufacture custom made silicone hose
(although I don’t like the idea of using it without the race team inspection interval).

The cost for a few custom made hoses was not ideal so spoke with Adnan at AS Motorsport and
he was very kind enough to release his race project hose for us.

Fortunately, it was almost like direct replacement and really good alignment so installed it with Koyo radiator this time.

And all of a sudden, I was told from Japan that they received the long-long back ordered coolant hose from
the manufacture out of the blue and already sent out last week!

I’ve already fired up the engine…….

I wish the manufacture told Honda about the manufacturing plan in advance so that
I didn’t have to spend so many hours trying to look for the multiple options in case of no further delivery…..

I have a feeling, I’ll receive the same hose that I placed multiple orders to Japan and through my local Honda dealer very soon…..

    And the end result….

    Just received these…..
3 hoses from Japan and another 3 from my local Honda dealer….

Obviously, all six has exactly the same batch no.....

The one on the right out of the parts bag is the one I asked another owner to send it to me but
I couldn’t use it on this yellow NSX as there was no info on the delivery schedule or even the manufacturing plan so
thank you to Adnan at AS Motorsport for supporting us.

Still, I’ll be using these hoses so must stock up for another spare set…..
