Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer

The new NSX was officially announced in Japan at the end of August and it started the booking process immediately.
The actual release/sale starts from the end of February 2017 and for the first year, only 100 NSX are allocated for Japan but already sold out.
The price starts from JPY23,700,000 so just about 3 times the original model.

As soon as it was announced, Honda Japan sent out the nice simple brochure.
Don’t want to cause copyright issue so may remove the image later but interesting to see how
the marketing department are going to keep the potential buyers interested in NSX as
it’s quite competitive market.

Some of my friends were not happy with the way they were treated by the dealers as
my friends left their contact details well in advance but never heard back and
only found out that it was already sold out….

These people buying these cars at this price range don’t care much about how fast
the car goes around the Nurburgring, the technical aspect of torque vectoring, etc but
they want to feel the specialty inside/outside of the car and just want to drive it in their style.

I hope Honda will invest efficiently in the marketing….
