The owner told me that the CD changer no longer works so he wanted me to remove it completely.

When I looked at his audio head unit, I noticed trace of fluid entering the display area with
some sort of debris trapped in between the clear lens and the display.

So, decided to look into the head unit first.

Some sort of fluid entered from the top section first and then stayed at the bottom circuit board and the bottom lid.

I don't remember having this kind of modification on my head unit although it's been a long time
since last time I opened mine so could be wrong.....
Someone already went in here???

Together with the leaked acid from the capacitor,
it caused electric erosion while electric current was passing through some of the terminals and tracks.

Not sure I can recover this flex circuit but will try…..

Recovered to this level but already the erosion chewed into some of the terminals that I can’t do much.
Even some burnt markings were there.

Will carry out extensive bench testing while monitoring the changes in current consumption under hot and cold environment.
