As I was worried about the extent of the damages to the circuit board, bench tested the warning light circuit.

Despite the owner claiming that the BRAKE LAMP warning was permanently On, at least on the bench, it was fine.
All warning light including the brake lamp one disappeared after about 2sec.

Of course when it detects the bulb failure, it will trigger the warning light.

By the way, please do not try bench testing your gauge without knowing the whole system.
You may damage other part of the circuit/gauge if you don’t know the spec and how the circuit is designed.
I studied electronics control at Uni and my background is hard/software in Eng/Chassis control so I know what I’m doing…. (as Kimi said...)

Looks like some of the caps exploded and splashed the acid everywhere….

I just hope this HIC is still fine and although it worked fine on the bench, I hope it's not intermittent…. Doesn’t look nice though….

Better check the R12 resistance figure….

Challenge continues......
