Final Touch

The owner has already collected his NSX from my place so I better update the blog quickly.

The new lens looks so clear and fresh that I wanted to do the same on mine.
I even have dead mosquito from Japan inside there….
Many owners think that the tail light assy is a sealed unit but it’s not.
If you look at them from the back, there are lots of slits, holes, etc allowing the air, debris etc to enter/exit fairly easily.
This is the reason why you get condensation inside the tail light assy if your boot carpet is wet.

Really nice alignment.

Checked all the indicators and functions including the TCS On/Off inidicator.

Went out for final test driving including the speedo and other gauge dials check.

All dials showed good data.

For the speedo, as I don’t know the refresh rate of my GPS circuit board, used Cruise Control to keep the steady speed while comparing the speedo against the GPS.

Test condition;
Cruise Control used.
Outside temperature: 22degC, cabin CCU set at 25degC with A/C On, Tyre pressure set at F/R = 2.2/2.7kgf/cm2.

Speedo
[mph]
GPS
[mph]
20 20
30 30
40 38-39
50 47-48
60 57-58
70 67-68

So, as you can see, the gauge/speedo was showing slightly higher reading than the actual car speed that is how car manufactures configure their speedo.

As it was tested in this fairly warm weather, decided not to make any adjustment as I know from the experience that the speedo may show different result when tested in very cold winter wet day.

Thank you for using my service and I’m glad we managed to service the gauge before it’s catching the fire.
Please enjoy your new tail light assy with ABS/TCS functioning properly.

Regards,
Kaz
