I must fix…

Rate this Entry

So, it’s time of the year to take both of my cars to MOT and as I'll be visiting my local Honda garage,
I asked them to evacuate my a/c system as I am not F-gas certified in Europe (although I have experience in Japan) and
I'll be replacing the evaporator in the near future.

I disabled my a/c compressor a while ago as I knew my evaporator had slow leakage and
no longer cooling the cabin efficiently.
Thus, the oil will never be able to get back to the compressor and may cause compressor failure
circulating the metal flakes around the system.

Before visiting them, measured the latest pressure and quite surprised to see that
there is no more pressure at all….

Very bad news as I'm now allowing moisture, debris, etc anything entering the system including the narrow pipes...
I really need replacing the evaporator very soon to minimise the contamination.

Must flush the system really well when I have a chance to work on my NSX and
free time for myself is something I don't have at the moment...

The only good thing is, I no longer need evacuating the gas because there is none...
Just MOT then.....

    I already knew my evaporator was having problem as I saw this in the past;

It was tiny leakage that I just left it until now.
Took about 3.8 years for the a/c gas to completely disappear.

Already have the parts including the compressor, evaporator, equipment, experience, etc and just need to find some spare time.

Hope you can sort your a/c out very soon.
Not fun driving NSX without the a/c today on the way back from the MOT. Very humid.
