Not much to report while dealing with the coolant hoses.
Carefully draining the coolant from the eng block without letting the coolant touching the exh pipes although there are so much oil in the area that it's making my arm really dirty.....
As mentioned many times, you just remove the old hose, inspect it, clean the metal pipe, install the new hose and repeat this 25 times.
It's AT model so extra hoses for the AT cooler.
Just really time consuming task and even after doing this 100+ times, the floor will get bit dump so have to replace the cardboard regularly to keep the moisture out of the garage.....
And while dealing with the coolant hoses, the big daddy drive shaft hub puller arrived.
Because of the angle of the photo, you may not get the actual size but it’s huge and heavy!!
It’s originally designed for HGV so I had to use adaptor plate to be able to use this on the passenger car class PCD.
It’s rated at 20ton and I can believe it.
The driveshaft spindle was seized inside the hub as it was never removed for such a long time and even with the acetone/ATF mixture, it felt as if it will never separate….
And after applying so much pressure, I thought even this tool will break but then, all of a sudden, it separated.
Still, it was very heavy to push the spline so had to push in a bit, apply grease to the groove, put back the spindle nut, tighten it to pull out the spindle to spread the grease and then push it in again to treat the spline further.
Right side ready for the removal. Looking forward to the left side.....
At this point, I had to stop working because in the morning, I twisted my left side back a little and it got worse and worse to the point that I can no longer sit down on the chair without fighting against the enormous pain….
Even getting in and out of the car was a big challenge so based on my previous experience with back injury, decided to take rest before getting to the sage I can’t even walk.
Today, still in pain but I can at least sit down on the chair writing this blog so good improvement.
Hope to be able to bend my body further from tomorrow....
