Smoothed out the rust from the FL caliper but didn’t want to go too far.

When the time comes for the next overhaul, please send the caliper to Bigg Red and have all four chemical treated before coating them in your preferred colour.

Some of the parts used for the front OH.

Double checking the smooth operation of the piston to confirm any leakage, damage, etc.
If not installed properly, you won’t be able to push back the piston with just your finger.
With the support of extra tools and attachment, you will see drop in pressure and abnormal form on the boot if leaking from the seal over hours.

Parking brake mechanism.

The rust at RL side with some sort of heavy marking…...

Very interesting to see the rust only at the FL and RL caliper bore but nothing on the FR or RR ones although all four bleeder plugs showed heavy corrosion inside the caliper body.
Another reason why you must replace brake fluid regularly regardless of the annual mileage.
It’s not a closed hyd system as there is a small vent hole behind the reservoir cap so it will absorb moisture over time.

Smoothed them out very gently.

Some of the parts required for the rear OH.

Same check on the rear side as well.

Happy with the result so time to re-assemble everything.

Not sure what’s happening with this year’s flu/cold but it seems to take ages to get rid of it.
I hope it’s not my age……
