Test driving, Health Check, Annual service

Rating: 6 votes, 4.83 average.

Carried out the test driving session to complete the TB/WP service as well as for the Health Check and ** months Annual services.

While the engine was completely warmed up, reset the ECU again and let the engine to learn the study value by running the engine with no load for 15 – 20min.

The longer term co-efficient value requires longer driving session with multiple driving conditions so I’ll appreciate if the owner can drive the car regularly and eventually, the ECU will learn them over the certain period.

Back on the lift and while carrying out the Health Check service, drained the MTF.

As my own standard procedure, I always remove the strainer as well.

Only tiny metal particles/dust were observed so no major issue here.

Owner was using aftermarket transmission oil but for his driving environment, recommended Honda MTF 3 so that’s in the Gbox now.

Let the excess to drain out from the filler and quick check by running the car on the lift.

Service Log file were created and the owner will receive the back up of NSXCB Blog with additional photos not shown to the public on the Photo CD when collecting his/her NSX.

Went through more than 150 check points for the Health Check.

The result will be in the prioritised report. Please allow me several days as I haven’t managed to finish other four reports…..

While most of the items were only reported to the owner privately, a few common things for you from my health check as there seemed to be several new owners recently.

If you think you’re A/C is not working efficiently even with the right amount of A/C gas, please check your ‘A/C Condenser Fan’ fuse (right and left) under the bonnet.

The fuse box label is different depending on the year/country models but they are located inside the pentagonal black box. There are two fuses in total to cover R & L condenser fans.

Quite often, one or even both of them were blown.

Another common failure is the leakage from Clutch Master Cyl.

For this, low mileage or later model means nothing.

For example, this NSX is at very low mileage and close to the end of the final production year.

The life of the seal will be mainly decided by the number of clutch pedal usage so from the master cyl point of view, high mileage with lots of motorway usage would be better than the lower mileage with stop and go driving condition.

As most of you know, the leakage from the master cyl will drip inside the cabin and not to the outside.

It’s brake fluid so not great as it will chew into the carpet and internal paint.

Wiped them off as much as possible but needs replacement and best to do it with the slave cyl and the hose as a set.

Washed the car, final check and ready for the collection.

Needs to create the Photo CD once I posted this.

Thank you for using my service.

Kaz
