The existing thermostat lost 2/3 of its rubber seal allowing the coolant to pass through during the warm up.
No wonder why it took ages to warm up in March.

Cleaned the corroded pipe to this level but didn’t want to go any further as I don’t want to make holes on them.

New thermostat installed. Should control the eng temperature much better.

Carefully dressed this side of the engine without spraying the valve covers.

Now that I’m almost ready to put the engine back into the bay, I can remove the INJ to have them cleaned. You want to keep them submerged in the fuel and never keep them dry for weeks/months.

Very basic top feed, single port design. Already showing small amount of corrosion at the port surface but won’t affect the spray pattern at this level.

Lots of trace of blowby gas around the INJ hole and body.

Cleaned the base for now.
