Notes from the test driving session.

  • Small intermittent misfire at idle rpm. Won’t be noticed while driving.

  • Really tappety engine noise especially with the meshed Eng cover. Effect of tired LMA as well as Eng oil getting old. Let’s see how it changes. Should have taken the video to record the before/after sound.

  • PO at 4.0kgf/cm2 at 2,000rpm, 2.0kgf/cm2 at idle rpm.

  • VB at 14.5 – 14.8V at cruising.

  • TW sits on just one marker below the horizontal line.

  • Took ages before the coolant temperature gauge reached the normal operating temperature so 100% sure the thermostat is seized open.

  • Steering wheel pointing slightly towards the left.

  • Horn doesn't work unless pressed really-really hard. Not sure it's designed like that as this NSX has S2000 VGS wheel.

  • Loss of torque at dead slow speed. Only noticeable when driving through the residential area. Effect of the high flow CAT + aftermarket exh back box.

  • Vibration noise from tail pipe section when shutting off the engine. Probably from the rubber hunger or from the slip fitting area.

  • Wind noise from around rear end of the driver door glass.

  • Wheel spacers affecting the handling especially under braking.

  • Very stiff to select 6th gear even after fully warmed up.

  • Very juddery CL but no slip felt while driving although very gentle test driving so can’t really tell without hard acceleration.

Compression check data to follow and removing the parts for Eng removal.
