In the process of servicing the VTEC Spool valve.


As reported earlier, rear one was already allowing moisture to enter the gasket section so had to spend extra time cleaning all of them out of the recess.

Always use new bolts especially the vertical short ones as they are exposed to the heat and moisture.
Some owners seared off these bolts when trying to loosen them.




Cleaned the oil pressure sender unit and installed it with new o-ring at the base.




The oil cooler with two new coolant hoses installed. Of course with new hose clamps.
After removing the old sealant and degreased the thread, applied Honda bond at the upper two bolts.



In the middle of cleaning the heavily corroded thermostat housing base.
With LEV, not easy to use the tools due to the pipe obstructing the area....


Hope to put the engine back in the bay very soon.
