What a big difference after removing all these melted potting.

TB installed and tensioned properly. Ready for the 4Hrs marathon valve clearance adjustment session.
I have to be fresh for this process so stopped here for the day.

I should have cut off this corroded broken CAT bolt before opening the engine.
I don't want even a single metal dust getting inside the engine so will deal with them after closing the valve covers.

Had fun loosening the rear O2 sensor but managed to make it rotate. Will replace it at the final moment.

More to follow later but I need to spend some time dealing with new business in Japan so probably won't be able to work on the car much today.

What is the source of the melted potting?

Hi, GraemeD. Welcome to the club.

Probably you don't follow my blog so missed the earlier posts.
It's from the CRK/CYL sensor. Quite common phenomenon on our NSX engine.

    Thanks,
I saw that on mine when I did the timing belt. Thought it was over use of gasket sealer.
