Eng Refresh, Health Check, etc 02

The tail light assy was full of moisture and it was caused by the condensation inside the boot.

Instead of the OEM sticky gasket, there was some sort of sponge/foam like material (camping mat???) used behind the tail light assy and this was allowing water to run inside the boot.
Later, when I washed the car in preparation for the Eng Refresh, I saw trace of water running down into the boot while openning the boot lid.

Speaking of boot lid, when I tried opening it using the switch at the driver side door card, I could hear the solenoid working but the boot was still closed.
For some reason, the opening cable was disconnected from the solenoid inside the boot togeter with the 3pin open/close detect circuit connector.

This connector is part of the boot light circuit so it won't light up.

Later I found that the cable for the boot light was cut through in the past and the radio aerial was replaced with some sort of aftermarket one.

It doesn't extend but seems to get enough radio signal for my area even when the ANT was lowered.

Found several holes drilled at the base of the boot to let the moisture escape.....

I know some owners drill the holes on the tail light assy as well.....
Very sad....
Tail light assy itself is not a sealded module and there is fairly big slit at the indicator bulb section so even you drill a hole, the moisture can still enter the assy.....

The owner of this NSX will do DIY to replace all wrong gaskets with the new OEM ones and then see how it goes.
