A/C CCU Board service 01

Rate this Entry

Started to work on another CCU board that was sent from someone working on the customer's NSX.

The issue was described as 'fan only operates at max setting' so typical CCU failure mode.

However, once opened the box, there was only small leakage at C44 capacitor where typically starts leaking first and lots of severe leakages from other areas including C19 where you normally don't see big leakage so that was interesting.

The dark green circuit board material with black capacitors and green check marking on top so this must be from very early model NSX.
Backed up by the Lot No. as well.

Looks like this NSX was not driven regularly. The leaked acid didn't spread to wider area but allowed to penetrate into the board deeply as a result.

Very interesting to see just small leakage at C44 but quite severe one at C19.

Lots of leakages around the board.
4 severe ones, 3 mid level and 2 small ones.

Lots of scraping had to be done due to the acid getting quite deeply into the board preventing good bonding of solder later on.
