FR wheel speed sensor

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
Had very busy weekend as one owner collected his NSX from my place in the morning and the other owner brought his in the afternoon and then the interview process for the Health Check.
Found some spare time so finally managed to replace the suspected faulty wheel speed sensor.

Several months ago, I started to hear the faint clicking sound from around the pedal floor area while driving at low speed without using the brake.
From my past experience with the similar/same noise on the Classic ABS with no warning light and later, the ABS error code #14 (noise on FL speed signal) on upgraded ABS, I knew it's the sound from the ABS and caused by the noise on one of the speed sensor but didn't know which one until it triggered the warning light.
I have already disabled the dreadful non-DBW TCS system so no warning light there.

It triggered ABS #12 so bought the replacement sensor but the lift was always occupied by another NSX and the ABS warning light will only come back once in a few months so left it until now.
The last time it triggered the ABS warning light was on the way to Silverstone Classic event and it depends on the temperature.
As it's getting colder, decided to replace it while the lift is available.

As suspected, the sensor body looked to be created hair line crack and allowed the moisture to get inside resulting in build up of white oxidation even inside the sensor body.
Eventually, it was enough to cause intermittent signal and causing noise like waveform depending on the temperature.

As same as the FL side, the oxidation was just too much that the sensor bracket snapped off from the body.
Removed the hub/bearing while the brake disc still attached and pushed out the remainders of the sensor body from inside.

Had to spend some time cleaning the sensor opening to this level as the new sensor body simply didn't fit. Too much build up of oxidation.

New sensor installed and although the ABS light was no longer triggered, cleared the memory using the specific sequences using the SCS terminal on the ABS upgrade loom, brake pedal and the IG switch.

Quick test driving and happy with the result.

Back to servicing another NSX.
