Doing bit of catch up updating the blog though the owner can see what's happening on his NSX through his photo album on the web.

I spend lots of time adjusting the engine cover on NSX-T model after carrying out the Eng Refresh service.

It is because of its heavy weight that the old seal around the cover as well as in the engine bay plus all the adjuster grommets get tired and allowing tiny air to leak into the area above the cover causing mist on the rear hatch glass.

I normally have to re-adjust it many times compared to the simple adjustment with the Coupe model. The cover is much lighter and also the shape is much simple.

On this NSX-T, we are going to replace many seals so will come back to it later but for now, replaced the one at the engine bay.
Needs to remove several parts for the installation as well as some cleaning so not straight forward.

Missing several screws inside the cabin.....

The alignment pin at the rear upper interior trim was already gone and missing....

Nothing special here. Just replacing the Main Relay.

The existing one was from almost the same year that this NSX was built so never replaced in the past.
This new one is using the relays from late 2011 and 'N' stamped on the board.
Not sure what it means.... Looked to be extra solder applied but probably it's just my eyes....

Spent some time investigating lots of wires inside the cabin.
The owner wanted to remove some of the old devices but not that straight forward.....
Will spent bit more time before making decision.

Started working on the brake caliper.

As reported earlier, before carrying out the 1st test driving session, I noticed that the rear brake outer pad was quite worn out and mentioned that the inner side would be even worse.

Well, it's not just worse, it's almost at the limit before hitting the wear indicator.
Only 0.5mm left at both R & L sides.
Quite surprised that the owner was not warned about this during the last service as there was text clearly showing 'brake inspection' on the receipt.

No point in re-using these pads so will replace it with EBC Redstuff considering the brake balance of re-using the OEM pad at the front.

Went through the same scenario and testing using my NSX that has the same later spec caliper with latest ABS.

By the way, with later spec caliper, the brake balance is shifted massively towards the rear.

Therefore, if you mainly drive on the street using normal brake application and not agressively shifting the weight forward (that is normal under street driving condition), then the rear pad will wear more than the front one.

EBC has the Redstuff for NSX in stock and they offer next day delivery so won't cause extra delay.
I need to wait for the delivery of coolant hoses from Japan any way.

The front pistons.

Once again, they were showing clear line marking and even the rust.
I think I can remove the lines on the smaller pistons but need careful inspection on the larger ones with the rust. Have all pistons in stock so if required, I'll just replace them.

Moving onto the rears.

Meeting another owner tomorrow for handing lots of parts and very likely to be working in the afternoon for other projects so another busy weekend...
I need some holiday....
