Bose Speaker AMP Service 01

I thought about test driving the NSX before start of the service for
another owner yesterday but didn’t feel comfortable driving someone’s NSX
in that heavy rain.
So, decided to carry on with the Audio head unit service that I started
a few days ago and just started working on another set of Bose speaker AMPs.

Another owner sent in his Bose AMP to me with no sound at all at
one of the door speaker and continuous screeching noise at the Bass one
located at the passenger footwell section.

Tested on the bench and confirmed that with the Door AMP, there was
only faint signal output with gain control issue.

The passenger footwell one was just making annoying screeching noise with
source signal in the background.

The door (Front) AMP.
It’s the old original spec with green caps on matt looking circuit board finish.
The circuit design is also the original one with no VR on it.
The surface mount components were also the old spec one.

Part of the hot melting glue was already removed and looked as if gave up half way
so clearly, someone tried to do something in the past.

The Bass (labelled as Rear) AMP.
Unlike the front one, it’s the shiny finish circuit board with green caps
plus black one and the surface mount components are the later spec.
The circuit design is the original one so based on these, it’s from the 2nd gen
so looks like previous owner replaced it in the past considering the year model info
from the current owner.

The acid leakage at the Front AMP.
Nothing new but quite severe leakage with possibility of high humidity/moisture in the past.
