As seen on many NSX, lots of black gunk at the TH butterfly.

On this NSX, I couldn’t even see the tip of the idle adjust screw so
probably I need to remove it completely off the TH body, clean the port and
then replace it together with the o-ring.

The EACV filter was covered in black debris as well.
Fast idle valve plunger was not too bad, surprisingly......

VVIS butterfly inspection.
Normally, I recommend the owner to disassemble the VVIS chamber and
re-torque all of the screws when removing the intake manifold but on this occasion,
the owner decided to focus on the head gasket and just do visual inspection using
the fibre scope.

Checked all screws and there was not even a tiny gap at the base of the screw head
so good for several years.

Still, there were lots of black blowby oil left inside the lower chamber of the VVIS so
ideally, should be disassembled and cleaned at some point.
Also, wanted to carry out INJ cleaning at the same time but again, we are going to
focus on the head gasket service.

It’s getting warmer so time to start working in the garden.
I was told one of the key is to produce good quality house compost.
Not in the V-bank though.....

While I was washing this engine, I knew it would be full of debris but
not to this level......

I need to hand pick these debris first and then wipe off the dirt.
Not looking forward to it especially, when you have fragile knock sensor nearby
(the green coloured sensor).
No matter how careful you are, this sensor can easily separate itself from
the metal body after many years of exposure to the heat and it’s
very expensive sensor.

Another old design WP being re-used for many years.
One of the reason why the coolant level dropped.
It was allowing some coolant to be pushed out through the bearing hole
which is normal but looked to be bit too much.....

And on top of this, as you can see, it was leaking at the top section
through the gasket for some time.

Also, it was making noise.

Another reason why it should be replaced at the time of every TB service
regardless of the annual mileage as you won’t be able to see this without
removing the WP body.

Keep removing the parts......
