As I already knew about the head gasket issue, didn’t want to
warm the engine up in preparation for the compression check and obviously,
no test driving session.

Instead, decided to carry out cold leakdown test.

The engine is cold and it was parked nearly two weeks now so
the data won’t be accurate but I have enough cold data for
both the compression and leakdown test as a reference.

When you start the engine for the first time in the morning,
your engine is cold and parked over night so similar condition.
If you have a problem, you will experience difficulty in starting up
or if you have too much leak, you won't be able to start the engine.

So, before touching the TB or valve clearance adjuster, carried out
the test at TDC for each cyl.
The cam/crank timing was fine and despite all these poor previous
services, the TB tension was loose but not too bad.

The information was already sent to the owner.

#1: 23%, #2: 15%, #3: 6%, #4: 4%, #5: 3%, #6: 6%

Based on the compression data that I took about 12months ago,
I was expecting something on the #6 and #1cyl but still
surprised to see such a bad data at #1 and even at #2.
Not perfect but far better than #1 and #2 at the #6cyl.
I’ll check the valve seating once the head is off.

Just keep removing the parts in preparation for the removal of the cyl head.

All four camshafts off, all of the old spec LMA were sticky but pri/sec rocker arms
stayed without any movement so that’s a good news, the head just smells so bad
with the blowby fume but I can’t open any ventilation.

I need industrial air clean room for engine service......

Looks like I’ll be working through the Easter together with
few other projects.......

Needs to remove the heads quickly as although I have enough parts,
I may need to place extra order yet most of the Japanese companies will be
closed from 29th this month for the national holiday week up to about 10days.

More to follow later.
