A/C CCU Board service

Rate this Entry

Although the owner was not feeling any issues on his A/C system,
he decided to carry out the preventative measures on the CCU.
Very good decision by acting now instead of waiting for something to fail
as it will save the time and cost for the owner.

The light green circuit board material with brown capacitor from Nichicon
using the PR series so the later spec.

Removed the capacitors and no leakage observed so just need to
upgrade the old capacitors.

Replaced, cleaned and happy with the bench testing so
time to apply the conformal coating.

Back on the car, lots of scenario testings and happy with the result.
Will release the Final test report later.

By the way, there were lots and lots of wires and some sort of boxes
behind the audio head unit and CCU area.
This was not the first time I saw this kind of things and these were one of
the reason for causing the interior noise.

Sometimes, they were obstructing the smooth operation of the motors on the
heater unit causing cracking noise when the Vent and Mode were changed.

The CCU aspirator fan for the cabin temperature sensor was
full of dust.

Disassembled and cleaned it thoroughly before installing it back into
the centre console.
