Test Driving Session, Reset ECU

Rate this Entry

Adjusted the tyre pressure to 33/40psi at 5degC before going out for the test driving session.

Please adjust this later depending on your preference and driving/environment conditions.

The rear wheel nuts were torqued at 108Nm.

Please re-torque them once you got back to your place due to alloy wheel characteristic.

Went out for test driving session, activated the ABS many times while the tyre was still cold and carried out the normal procedure of checking the performance after the service.

I didn’t like the shift feeling even after the MTF was replaced and fully warmed up.

This was the same comment I made in 2009.

Came back to my place, checked the brake temperature with no issues.

Didn’t like the parking brake feeling as it felt too tight but brake temperature was fine and no dragging observed.

As I cleaned the TH Butterfly, I reset the ECU while the engine was fully warmed up.

Started the engine without any electrical or TH pedal load and kept it running for about 15min.

Eventually, the idle rpm became steady at 800rpm so stopped the engine and started it again to double check.

Part of the ECU study values were stored by this process and it’s up to the owner to let the ECU to learn the longer term study value by driving his NSX for longer distance/ period.

Ran out of time to wash the car so I will do this tomorrow morning.

Will check the car again in the morning to double check for any leakage around the trans seal.

Done.

Regards,
Kaz
