CL Master Cyl Pushrod Free Play

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.

Just a quick video to help other owners experiencing CL disc slip
due to lack of free play at the CL master cyl pushrod.

Without the free play, the CL will slip once the CL Hyd system has
warmed up.
Depending on the pushrod adjustment, you may not notice the issue
when the CL Hyd system is still cold.

Please enable the caption (CC) by hovering your mouse at the bottom of
the video screen and clicking on the square box at the left side of the
'gear' like logo (Settings) in order to see the description.

In case you can't see them, following is the copy of the caption.

  • 1 - 7mm mechanical rattle before the pushrod starts moving.
  • On my NSX, it's about 1 - 2mm.
  • Press down further until you notice sudden big change in pedal feeling.
  • This is when the Hyd line pressure starts building up.
  • This is the pushrod free play and it's about 8mm as you can see.
  • In total, you MUST see 9 - 15mm of pedal stroke from its rest point (until hyd pressure builds up).
  • On my NSX, it's about 10mm as you can see.

Please use just one finger when pressing on the CL pedal as
you need to be able to feel for the small changes in the pedal feeling.
