ABS Flushing

As soon as I started the service, I knew there was something wrong with the system.
I had to close the bleeder four times before I could release the high pressure fluid from the accumulator because there was excessive air in the system.
While I was pressurising the system in order to flush the accumulator, already there was some fluid coming out of the return port.
This was the sign of leaky solenoid(s).
Flushed the accumulator twice with new fluid and moved onto the four solenoids flush.
And I understood the cause of the issue.
Two out of the four solenoids were sticky.
Once activated, they kept returning the fluid even without applying any voltage.
These photos are the connectors at the leaky solenoid side and not the control signal one.
Please keep eye on these solenoids next time when you flush the system.
Had to flush them three times each to recover their proper operation.
I normally replace the fluid each time when I flushed the solenoids so had to replace the fluid so many times for this ABS….
Flushed the accumulator two more times with the new fluid and pressurised the system.
It is a good idea to activate the ABS by locking the wheels while the tyres are cold but it is not easy to activate all four solenoids under normal driving conditions.
Therefore, ideally, it is best to flush the ABS once a year by activating each solenoids manually.
Will adjust the fluid level after activating the ABS about 9 times during the test driving session.
