After removing all of the corrosion and cleaning the gasket seating area,
new thermostat installed.





All coolant hoses on the engine replaced with new cramps.






Engine ready to go back into the bay.
Looks so much better when the engine is cleaned to this level.
Before/after comparison.




While I don’t want to take away the enjoyment of working on
one’s own car from the owner, I just couldn’t find a good reason on
why I should not replace the CL slave cyl and the hose especially
when there was already a problem with the CL Hyd sys.

The airbox, shift cable, etc were already removed and the owner has
to do the same any way if replacing the parts by himself.
The old tired slave cyl was just sitting inside the engine bay.

So, contacted the owner and he was happy for me to replace them.



Quick cleaning of the engine bay at the same time.
