As seen on other engines, this one needs serious cleaning....

Front bank was simply just dirk charcoal colour....
Due to the way the PCV was routed on the black valve cover model,
the rear bank was not too bad but still, you can see black dirty
engine oil everywhere.



Another reason why it is so important to replace the engine oil regularly
even for the low annual mileage garage queen car.








Also, found several debris of old liquid gasket.


Again, this shows the limit of standard TB/WP service.






Same for the valve covers.
Just needs lots of time cleaning them.








While the cam timing was fine, the TB tension was way too low.

It was so loose that it was hitting the TB back plate frequently and
left lots of marking there.
