Eng Refresh 04

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.

Phew! That was a tough one....
Spent hours just for cleaning the outside of the engine.

I can now at least happy to touch the engine even with
my bare hand.

Some of the before/after comparison images.

As seen on many NSX, I’m going to struggle removing this
heavily corroded bolt behind the crank pulley.
Time for the bolt grip.

Will be opening the engine from tomorrow.
Let’s see what’s happening inside there.

More to follow later.

Such a contrast to the cleanliness of the last project ... a quick question please Kaz, are you applying any sealant post the refresh to protect the freshly cleaned exterior before you reinstall to the chassis?

I've never seen so much NSX's in such poor condition as into your Blog over the years.
My highest respect that you always do your job with such passion and highest precision.
Think noone can do it better !!!

Whats the price for such a complete service?
I assume more than 4000 Euros parts and labour?
    (LMA, waterpump, timing belt etc?)

I on purposely don’t use long lasting coating oil on engine.

I know there are several products available but I found that some of them will bake themselves into the
metal surface and making it difficult to diagnose several issues such as oil and coolant seepage.

I just apply engine dressing spray from Meguiars that seems to last for a certain period and that’s it.
I drive my NSX almost every day including winter and seems to be fine against oxidation and I don't see any extra corrosion on my engine bay.
I used it on my engine for many years without any side effects so that’s what I use on all of the engines going through my Eng Refresh.
