Checked the smooth movement of each rocker arms before
removing the rocker shaft.

As you can see, none of the primary and secondary arms should move
when the mid one was pressed/released.

May not be able to feel it from this video but as reported earlier,
all of the LMA were getting soft and some of them were much
weaker than the others.

Rocker shaft removed from both banks and ready to remove the old LMA.

This NSX was equipped with the A02 LMA (mid generation,
A02 version on the right, the early design A01 on the left) that
still had the old cyl cartridge design.
This LMA was introduced on some of the engines in 1995 and Honda kept
using this design until 99/00 before switching to the much simpler spring only design
of PCB-003 version.

PCB-003 didn’t have any spacer at the bottom so the free length was shorter than
the original LMA design which resulted in extra noise when installed on the pre-00 engines.

Later, Honda added the spacer and introduced the new LMA as PCB-305 version for
the pre-00 engines.

All LMA removed.

As shown in the video, some of them felt much softer than others but
none of them were making the ‘popping’ or ‘sticking’ noise that can be
heard on the early LMA design.

Time to clean the engine including the black blowby contaminated oil inside
many of the oil pockets inside the engine as well as the old oil inside the LMA pocket.

More to follow later.
