It’s time of the year again, the MOT for the NSX and the MX5.

I used to go to the same MOT station every year but they went out of
business two years ago so I went to the one at the next door last year.

This year, while I was collecting the Type 2 coolant from my local
Honda garage, they told me that they are doing some sort of
price match deal around the area and they are offering the
MOT at GBP30.

As I was interested in their facility as well as wanted to ask
some questions about the engineering companies that they use
for the head skimming, valve guide and crank area services,
decided to use Honda UK service for the first time in my life.

I know several owners are using this place because I saw at least
two NSXs in the past.

Unlike last year, there was no trouble with the headlight beam angle
so it was easy to pass the test.

Having said this, over the last 19 years, I have noticed some changes
on the CO data from 2011 although well below the threshold so easy to
pass the MOT. Still, something to be looked at for the future.

Also, I haven’t cleaned the INJ for many years now so want to
find a good place in the near future.

If you had good experience with a certain shop, please let me know.

MX5 also passed the MOT with ease and the emission data was
even better than the requirement of the 2002 onwards models.

It’s 93 model with just above 60K miles and still with the original O2 sensor.

Two items ticked off from my To Do list for this week.
17 more to go.....
I need 50Hrs per day.....
