Although some of the brake calliper parts looked to be replaced in the past, the fluid was not replaced regularly and also some of the services were not done properly that the rust managed to penetrate through several areas.
This smaller piston looked to be replaced in the past so I'll re-use it.

Bigg Red has done great job on the calliper and bracket body

  2. Annual Service, Health Check, Brake OH 05

Started opening the calipers and had to inform the owner that I will need extra days.

Even for the late production model close to 2005, if the caliper service was neglected, there is very little chance of surviving without the rust getting inside the caliper.
This is especially true for UK based NSX even for the ones kept inside the nice beautiful garage.
For some reason, caliper overhaul is not included in the standard Honda service schedule on all Honda models

that things just don’t go as planned.....

Whenever I work on the brake or inside the wheel arch, I normally
power wash the area before starting the service.
However, for this NSX, the paintwork, wheel, tyre and wheel arch looked
very clean even after the test driving session so decided not to wash it.

    Bad idea.

Same process for the rear as well.

And once again, we just caught the issue in time.
Based on what I saw in the past and this time, once again,
I would like to recommend the owners to have their brake system
overhauled regardless of the total mileage or storage conditions.

It’s your NSX so final decision is up to you but
it’s the brake system and this happened even on the
very low mileage final production model for

Nothing new here….. Just keep cleaning the internal and external caliper parts…..

Received the caliper and bracket back from Bigg Red.

Once again, they had bubbling and running of polymer on a few parts but
far better than the last occasion.

In fact, you won’t notice them unless you really look for them.
