Air Con CCU Board Service 01

Rate this Entry

The owner took my Health Check service last August and at that time, although it was recommended, the CCU board was not serviced.

It passed all the standard test that I normally carry out during the Health Check and also the A/C gas level was slightly lower than the full but still performing well at that time.

Since then, the owner only covered less than 2,000miles including the long-long journey to my place and reported that the A/C didn’t seem to work like it used to be.

Carried out the same test procedure and this time, it failed at the Fan speed check.

CCU only operated at the Max speed setting.

Typical CCU board failure mode.

So, took out the CCU and immediately, noticed the damage.

From the colour of the board, you can tell it is the later spec CCU board and already causing problem.

Even if your NSX is Year 2000 or later spec model or at super low mileage, sooner or later, you will have the same issue.

Another reason to have your CCU board serviced even you think there is no issues.

Also, another good example to take Health Check service once a year.

At the same time, the A/C Cabin Temperature sensor is going to be cleaned as it was already making some noise and full of uncomfortable dust inside….
