Audio Head Unit, Bose AMP, A/C CCU Board service 01

Rate this Entry

Already working on another NSX so bit of catch up updating the blog….

This is the spare head unit for one owner.
Not sure from where he got this but it was covered in full of sand/dust….

It already went inside the head unit including the display area so no other option but to disassemble the display board as well.

Also, it showed trace of fluid entering from top of the unit and partially submerged the bottom side of the circuit board so not sure I can repair it.

Already the sand and moisture causing #7 switch some problem as I have to press it longer or stronger to activate it.
Still works so not a big issue but sad to see OEM head unit being treated like this.

When I opened the lid, I found someone writing short comment at the back so clearly, it was serviced in the past.

The sand and even some acid damages were observed at the middle circuit board that is very rare to see.

Trace of moisture and even rust at the DIN port.

Acid penetrated quite deep into the circuit board.
Some of the pads were gone so I had to use jumper wires.

Cleaned display module to this level.
