Bleeding of CL Hyd Sys.

Unlike the brake master cyl that consists of twin piston tandem system with
criss-cross flow, CL master cyl is just a single piston/line.
As long as you can prime the master cyl enough, air bleeding is fairly easy
and can be done with just hand operation.

After priming the CL master cyl, I use the pressure bleeder to
save some time and the fluid.

Followed by the bleeding of brake master cyl.
I only disconnected the rear brake hoses and took extra care not to
introduce air into the master cyl so it was easy.

Although it is not within the scope of my Eng Refresh,
I really didn’t like the way the aftermarket exh back box/adaptor pipe/CAT
connected and aligned.
At the end, decided to loosen all of the joints and started the
alignment from scratch.

As mentioned previously, if you are installing aftermarket exh back box or
header, please align the entire exh system starting from the rear end and
move onto the forward section.

This is especially important as most of the aftermarket system uses SUS304.
It has fairly large expansion rate so the original geometry won’t be the same
once the system warmed up.

Another reason why you can tell the difference between standard and
top quality exh parts by looking at the rear bank design.

After some time, it is much better now.
Also, managed to gain extra space above the front CAT that was
too close to the rear sub frame initially.

Still, the four springs used at the exit side of both front and rear CAT are
too long so must be replaced with a shorter one.
At the moment, they can’t be compressed any further and thus,
possibly not applying enough sealing force depending on the temperature.

Also, the flange angle and about 90deg angle of the adaptor pipe after
the front CAT are not in the ideal geometry.
The alignment issue is absorbed at the joint between the CAT and front header.

I tried my best to align it but without knowing the adaptor pipe slit design
and diameter of the hidden pipe, I didn’t want to touch the pipe cramp with
the red/orange exh paste as it’s already showing small leakage and
could crack the pipe.

The owner is going to address these as I think he has fair amount of
skill/equipment/parts for dealing with the exh system.
