    Once again, time to clean the parts… So much brake dust and the grease was already dried out that the cleaner fluid immediately got dirty…

    During the Health Check, informed the owner that the master cyl looked to be leaking.

    And yes indeed, it was leaking quite a lot…

    Again, some of the pads were seized inside the bracket.


    At the Rear, not only the Inner pads were seized to the bracket but also installed upside down that the wear indicator was at the lower side when it should be at the upper side.


    I will keep the orientation as it is although it is wrong as it will affect the brake performance after the service for a while if I swap ...

    Moving on to the Brake overhaul process and already having fun with this…..



    Although it was not seized (yet), the grease at most of the slider pins was already dried out and no longer soft resulting in very heavy calliper movement.

    Some of the dust boots over the piston were not installed properly and causing excessive rust inside….

  4. Boot Lid Hinge Rubber protector

    Another one of the most common parts missing from your early model NSX.

    It’s the rubber protector located at the boot lid hinge.


    Without this, the forward section of your boot lid alignment would be lower than the side wing.


    On the later model, the design of the ‘hook’ was changed so that the rubber protector won’t be easily dislocated but on the earlier models, ...

    What a dirty air filter…. Due to the camera’s flash, the photo doesn’t show you the true state of the filter but I couldn’t see through anything with this dirty one.


    Replaced with the new OEM one.
