The wear of the coating at the cam lobe is in very good condition and hard to tell it spent more than 131K miles.

On going project of cleaning the engine….

    EGR valve cleaned.
Didn’t want to disturb the spindle so only briefly cleaned around it and cleaned the port while opening the valve manually.
The EGR tube and small chamber were also soaked in special cleaning solution and ready for the reassembly.

Really hate peeling off the melted potting from the timing sensor.

It’s just everywhere and there is no easy solution for this so you just need to keeping scraping it off by hand.

Got bored so decided to work on the easy bits.

The PCV valve on my engine is at the Front bank so this side will always show more traces of the blowby gas than the rear side.

This photo was taken immediately after the cover was removed.
Even after more than 131K miles, my Front valve cover looked very clean.
Another reason why it is so important to replace the engine
