  1. NSX Health Check Service – Day 5

    by , 15-10-2011 at 11:49 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

If you are thinking of using aftermarket wiper blade, think twice.

Quite often, I saw owners using aftermarket standard or even aero blades on NSX.

Most of them are not designed with the clearance requirement for our NSX.

If you are using it, you better check the clearance at your wiper arm and the back of the bonnet.

  2. NSX Health Check Service – Day 4

    by , 14-10-2011 at 11:37 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Yesterday, I was checking one of the nice early model and in comparison, today, I was testing one of the last few NSX brought to UK.

Again, very low mileage with beautiful paint finish.

As the owner can extend the Honda warranty, the aim was to list up all the items that could be addressed through the scheme.

As seen on many NSX, there were several things seemed to be done during the installation of the security ...
  3. NSX Health Check Service – Day 3

    by , 13-10-2011 at 11:09 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Today, I had an opportunity to check one of the early model NSX kept as a collector car for many-many years.

As same as other collector cars, all four tyres were really old and they were 8 – 10 yrs old.

You can already see several cracks at the tread as well as at the side shoulder and even at fairly low speed, you can feel the tyre is not healthy and almost like going to break in side way.

The owner is going to ...

  4. NSX Health Check Service - Day 2

    by , 12-10-2011 at 11:08 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Today, it was fairly smooth and no drama like yesterday.

It was the AT model and when it was driven properly, the torque output is similar to the MT one until the VTEC zone so I like AT as well.

When the owner arrived, the exhaust sounded quite loud even with the OEM package but later, I found leakage from the right side top section of the exh. box.

The owner already bought aftermarket headers and exhaust ...
  5. NSX Health Check Service – Day 1

    by , 11-10-2011 at 11:38 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

So, the start of the very busy next 2 weeks with Health Check service every day.

And it couldn’t get started any better than this.

At the end, the first day turned into an emergency rescue service but both the owner and myself were happy to near-miss the disaster engine failure.

After the owner arrived at my place, went through the general Q & A session for about 30min to understand the ...
