Was hoping to fireup the engine yesterday but once again,
several tasks required additional time so have to wait until tomorrow.

In an ideal world, wanted to remove the CAT and press out the stud bolts but the nuts at the upper stream were again,
heavily corroded so decided to drill all them out instead.

As I had to use 10mm drill bit at the end, thought I would be forced to use different bolt but fortunately,
there was enough spline left inside the hole so managed to use new OEM stud bolt at all three locations.

By the way, as mentioned many times, please never use the same material on both the bolt and the nut where they are exposed to heat and moisture.
The worst thing you can do is to use same stainless group on both the bolt and nut.
100% guaranteed to seize in short period and since they are stainless, takes ages to cut/drill through them once seized.

New CAT metal gasket positioned.

Quickly changed the coolant hoses at the centre floor section and at the front compartment.
Several pipes showed some corrosion but not too bad. Managed to remove them by gently using the sand paper.

As reported earlier, I'll replace the GND cable as it didn't look healthy and not treated well....

And the eng/gbox assy is back in the bay waiting for all the bolts/nuts to be torqued in the specific sequence.
If you study the structure of the sub frame and how the engine and gbox are mounted, you will understand the reason for this specific sequence.

After looking at the state of the heatshield and fixing holes, decided not to re-install the shield at the front CAT.
It will simply cause metal rattling noise later....
It's not ancient carburetor engine so CAT won't get red hot with un-burnt fuel like in old days so not required.

Even on the JDM with CAT temperature sensor required by law, the sensor itself was removed from later year model NSX as
the government decided it was no longer required in the era of fuel injection.
