    For some reason, it was really slow or even timed out accessing the site Saturday morning but glad it’s back to normal now.




    Before removing the left drive shaft, must drain the trans oil.
    As always, checking the MTF strainer.

    For the first time in 6 years, I dropped my digital camera and
    although I can still take the photo, none of the menu buttons,
    zoom, etc features work…..

    Some of the photos here were taken using the mobile phone
    but not ideal for my purpose.

    Need to think what to do until the replacement

    After struggling with the seized and rusty bolt, nut, pin, etc, finally things started to go smoothly.




    Both drive shafts came off and although the joint housing looked very rusty (quite normal), the wheel speed sensor trigger teeth were all clean without any corrosion so very good news.

    As a standard procedure on replacing the MTF, always check the MTF strainer.

    It seemed that the strainer cover was never removed in the past.

    Spent extra hour with it and finally, it started to rotate slightly and it came off.


    There were small particles inside the meshed filter so several miss-shifts were carried
