If posted without backdating, it will show up in 'What's New?' stream as the latest post.
Then if back dated, it will still stay as the latest post but in the blog section, it will be placed at the appropriate date.
If backdated at the time of creating the post, it won't show up on the 'What's New?' stream and will be placed at the specified date/time position of the blog.
