Re-installed properly.

The owner brought the FM radio frequency expander and wanted me to install it.

While looking for the missing boot light, I noticed that expander was already installed but
the power line was spliced using the quick connect type blue connector and also for some reason,
connected to VB (+B, so always powered up even after parked the car…).

The expander case was somewhat rusting due to moisture inside the boot.

Decided to replace it with the new expander and re-wire it so that it will only get the power when the audio head unit is in use.
Far better than using the VB +B.
I also used the proper 090 terminal.

I hate these quick connect type module as it will not only cut through the wire sleeve but also creates intermittent connection.

Despite the new frequency expander installed, still just one radio station recognised by the audio head unit.
I'll be replacing the Main Relay as well as installing the USA Spec PA11-HON iPod adaptor later so
removed the interior panel and found this.

JDM has 2 x ANT for the diversity system so no wonder why there was only 1 radio station recognaised.
The rod ANT was disconnected behind the left side seat and
the tuner was only getting the radio signal through the printed ANT at the Eng hatch glass.

Re-connected and the diversity system now operates how it should be and together with the freq expander,
we can now receive lots of radio stations on JDM spec audio head unit.

I already knew something was not right with the CCU as I didn’t get any air flow from the heater (foot) position.
Also, no hot air.

While checking, I noticed that the site glass at the receiver didn’t change its status even with the A/C compressor On and Off.
It cools down the air fine and although I didn’t measure the pressure, looks like the refrigerant was over charged.

Asked the owner to visit his local a/c specialist to properly evacuate and re-charge the refrigerant to the correct amount.

NSX has fairly large receiver/drier so it can act as accumulator and somewhat allow some tolerance on the absolute amount of refrigerant.

However, one should never overcharge it.
It will not only lower the efficiency but also cause long term issue such as puncture of evaporator unit.
Tell me how I know it.....

By the way, later, when I opened the CCU, I was quite surprised that the CCU was still working partially.
There were so many internal damages and even burnt marking that I would have thought that it would stop working and completely dead.....

The end of this water valve cable is broken.
I hope I can bong it although not sure of the plastic material.....

The water valve control is not working at the moment so I'll just manually move it towards the Open side by hand
in preparation for the Cooling Sys Refresh.

CCU Self Diag confirmed the failure of the Air Mix motor (indicated by 'A/C') and the Mode motor (indicated by 'ON').

No wonder why I didn’t get hot air or nothing from the Heater position.

Addition to the CCU repair, better check some of the connectors hidden behind the centre console while
removing the JDM Cruise control unit and the audio head unit.

There are so many extra looms behind there and some of them could be obstructing the motor movement.
