On the later model, the routing of blowby gas was changed to prevent the issue of excessive oil mist entering the intake manifold under high G cornering.

Therefore, on this model, the rear valve cover tends to get black sticky gunk than the front.

Same on the rear bank ...

  2. TB/WP/Valve 03 – Brake Line issue

    by , 31-03-2011 at 11:27 AM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

While preparing the car to drain the coolant, I noticed that the brake line at the rear was very close to the sway (anti-roll) bar even at the full droop position.

So, although it's going to slow me down, decided to put the tyres back on again and bounced the car a few times to settle the suspension and looked at the brake lines.

Although this is the 1st TB service for this NSX, the crank pulley bolt was not seized and came off with ease.

The car is close to the last year model and still at low mileage so all of the bolts and nuts are easy to work with.

Having said this, some of the TB lower ...

  4. Parts Arrived

    by , 29-03-2011 at 09:22 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

I only started to work on another NSX from this week and already received almost all of the parts for the next service....

More than one month ago, I placed an order for lots of parts to japan.

There were several back ordered parts at that time but it didn’t bother me because I only needed the parts around mid April.

    Then, the earthquake hit Japan.

While I thought about the delay for the parts ...

This NSX is the Targa with LEV so before I can access the IGN Coils and spark plugs, I must remove so many things as a preparation.

For TB/WP service, it would be quicker to take the engine out with the sub-frame like I used to do especially if it is OBD-II LEV model.
