  1. Ignition Coil

    One of the most common question that I receive is the difference between the Front and Rear IG coil.

    The IG coil itself is different due to the misfire detection rule and thus, there are 2pin style as well as the 3pin one.



    Most of you already know that Front and Rear ones have different parts no. and also they are stamped as ‘FR’ and ‘RR’ at the head respectively.

  2. TB/WP/Valve 01

    Started to remove the parts around the engine in preparation for the compression check.


    Again, as I don’t know what kind of torque and treatment were carried out on the spark plugs, decided to remove them while the engine is cold.

    I was expecting all of the spark plugs being replaced and although the centre tip looked fine, I didn’t like the amount of corrosion at the insulator body.

    After the initial inspection, I noticed that someone worked on this NSX in the past.


    Last year, when I spoke with the owner, we couldn’t find some of the service history record at the time of Health Check but we were quite sure that the car had TB service in the past.


    This was backed up by the white liquid gasket seen around the valve cover and later I found it was quite easy to loosen the bolt at the crank shaft pulley.
